Poecilia wingei, EBA Certified
French Blue Star males have a long black stripe running from just in front of the anal fin through the tail, with large orange spots over a brilliant iridescent blue sheen that is hard to capture in photos. Females are a very light white and can look almost transparent in some lighting.
✔ What you get: Live, hand-selected fish in prime health, chosen for full color.
✔ EBA Certified: Certified pure by the Endler Breeder Association, which works to preserve true Endler lines.
✔ Size: Available in different ages and groupings, depending on the option you choose. Adult males reach about 1 inch, females about 1.5–2 inches.
✔ Origin: Bred and raised in Idaho in species-only tanks. Parasite-free, never wild-caught, nothing imported.
✔ Care: 5+ gallon tank, pH 7.2–8.2, 72–82°F. Peaceful community fish, rarely aggressive toward their young.
✔ Keep the line pure: All livebearers can crossbreed. To keep your fish true to type, house them only with their own specific strain.
✔ How we raise them: Born into their own aquarium and raised there until sexing, with no breeder cages and no constant netting. Our tanks have sand bottoms, matten filters and live plants, including floating water lettuce where the mothers give birth, filled with our own well water (pH 7.4, TDS 250). They eat high-quality Ark BioRite fish food plus baby brine shrimp.
✔ Photos: Our photos show parents plus males and females at different ages, so you can see how your fish will mature.
✔ Shipping: UPS 2nd Day Air, shipped Monday–Tuesday. Free shipping on orders of $99 or more. Fish travel double-bagged in breather bags, a special plastic that lets fresh oxygen in and carbon dioxide out for the whole trip. Packed with heat or cold packs as needed in a custom insulated box.
✔ Live arrival guarantee: On larger orders we often include a few extra fish. If any fish arrive dead, send us a photo within 1 hour of delivery, in the original packaging. We'll replace any losses beyond the extras included. Shipping is non-refundable.
